One of my goals this year is to save money and use up my beauty products before I buy more. I find Beauty Product Empties posts so interesting, it’s nice to see which products people use to the end so here is my empties for February.
Primark Make Up Fixing Spray
Sometimes Primark Beauty have some weird yet wonderful products. I’d never seen a setting spray in this format before so for £2, I had to try it. The texture is weird, like those cans of glitter you used to spray before a dance show but feels like the foaming charcoal face masks when you spray. Did it keep my make up on? Essentially it did. I don’t know if I’d re-purchase but if you can get by the texture, it works pretty well.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation
I really liked this foundation. It smells like apricots which, isn’t an essential but it’s a nice bonus. It applied really well, a good coverage and it was comfortable to wear all day. I used this as an everyday foundation as it made my skin look healthy yet minimal.
L’Oreal Infallible Mattifying Base Primer
I heard really good things about this Primer and was in need of a good one when I bought The Ordinary Coverage foundation. If you need a smooth base then I’d totally recommend this. Like most primers, I didn’t find it very breathable and while it’s comfortable to wear all day, I was concerned my skin was going to suffer. For bad skin days, days where you need insurance on your make up, this product does what it claims.
LUSH Tea Tree Toning Water
I don’t generally have bad skin, I was recommended this product for break-outs. I do like LUSH skin care but generally think it’s overpriced. That being said, if it works then I don’t grudge paying a bit more. Despite so many people getting on well with this product, I really didn’t. I didn’t find it made any difference to my skin.
Primark Holler and Glow Dream Snatcher Sheet Mask
Maybe at 23, I’m old but I don’t need anyone to be seeing when I’m doing a face mask. I don’t Snapchat, put it on Insta, I believe that behaviour is reserved for celebrities and those under 14. So when I saw this for £3 in Primark i was sceptical because in my head – they should be £1. Did it work any better than their 80p moisture mask? It didn’t. Was a paying the other £2.20 for the funky print on the mask? Yes. Will i be re-buying? No.
Zoella Beauty Shower Shake
This may be my favourite Zoella Beauty product, ever. The Jelly & Gelato range smells beautiful, a mix of elderflower and pomegranate, it smells very fresh and summery which I love. This is a 2 in 1 product so your body wash and body moisturiser. It goes on like a body conditioner as opposed to a wash, let it soak in, rinse and you can get on with your day. The only thing I didn’t like was the practicality of the packaging. It’s beautiful to look at, but creamy products are a nightmare to get out of the tubes when there’s not much left.
