Loving and Leaving | January 2018

A post that is a bit different to the good old monthly favourites, Loving & Leaving- beauty and lifestyle products  I have been loving but also products I haven’t been enjoying this month.

The first thing I have been loving is the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Illuminating Powder in the shade Peonies Please. When I bought this, I wasn’t quite sure how it was going to fit in my routine.  It’s a blush and a highlight mixed into one so I wasn’t sure how often I’d use it. I brush this over the tops of my cheeks every day instead of blush and highlight, it’s so subtle and gentle. I’m obsessed.

Last month I tried the Eyelure Fleur De Force Brow Define Pencil. I was looking for something new after I finished my Benefit Precisely My Brow  because as good as it is, it doesn’t last very long and it’s expensive. I tried this and it is my favourite eyebrow product ever. Each pencil has a light and dark tone so it’s so good for shading and creating a different look with one product.

As winter has arrived with a vengeance, my hands really struggle in the cold. Like small children, I cannot seem to keep gloves on my hands, it just doesn’t seem to work.  I’ve been loving the Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream. If I’m starting to get sore hands, this sorts them out so quickly and doesn’t sting on broken skin like a lot of hand creams.

The last thing I have been loving lately is the Oral-B 3d White Luxe Treatment Kit. My teeth tend to be weak so I’m weary from whitening kits as they tend to break down your enamel. I can’t believe the gradual difference by using this product. My smile is much whiter and my dentist said there had been no detrimental effect on my teeth.

This Month, I was disappointed in the St. Tropez Gradual Tan Classic. He-Shi is my favourite tan but I couldn’t find any so I opted for this. It went on so streaky, uneven and orange, so I went to my Christmas night out looking like a pale Tiger.

Another product I’ve been less than loving is the B. Glyocolic Cleansing Peel. I didn’t find this made a single bit of difference to my skin and effectively was just a total waste of money.

The last product is The Life-Changing Magic of Not Giving a F**k by Sarah Knight.  I liked the idea behind it and think there is so much potential with this idea. I made it 30 pages before I was  bored of the mis-guided concept, the authors arrogance and overuse of the work Fuck. The only thing worth not giving a f**k about, is this book.

Let me know what you thought about this style of post- is it something you’d like to see again?
