L’Oreal Paris Fine Flowers range is supposed to achieve comfortable, fresh skin everyday even for those with dry/sensitive skin. I saw this, on offer, in Boots and i just had to try it. So I picked up the Cleansing Cream (x) (£5.33) and the Toning Water (x) (£3.99).
The Cleansing Cream
Designed to melt away the most resilient make-up whilst being extra gentle on the skin.
I really like, and was drawn to, the fact this product is in a pot. There is something about a pot that appeals to me much more than a bottle or tube. The baby pink packaging makes the product endearing as a delicate product. Throw in the flowers and you will have most people sold. Marketing wise, this product is a winner!
I found this very thick and creamy and while it smells lovely, it’s a messy product. I really struggled to get it off my hands once I’d put it on my face which is just a hassle no one needs.
As instructed, i put this on my face and then took it off with a cotton pad. It didn’t take my make-up off, it took some of it off but my eye make-up didn’t budge and my face was patchy with make-up.
I tried it on make-up free skin just to see if I liked it just as a cleanser. It is gentle on the skin and very rich but even when I’d removed the product, it felt like I still had product on my face. I can make my peace with this at night when I’m just going to bed but I’m absolutely not a fan in the morning when I’m trying to get ready.
The cleanser does say to use the toning water afterwards, which I also bought, but I don’t know if I like the idea that the product only works properly if you buy the full range?
The Toning Water
I am a fan of toning waters by nature, I’m not sure if I believe that they actually make a difference but I do really like using them. This was on special for £3.99 and it’s a big bottle so I’d say value for money is pretty spot on.
This has the same scent as the cream, very floral and light which i really like. The toning water is a bit thicker than I was expecting, hence water, it’s more like the middle child of a water and gel.
I do really like the feel of this on my skin, it’s very gentle and delicate. My skin feels nicer once I’ve used this after the cream but all in all I’m not convinced.
I do think L’Oreal products can sometimes cause breakouts and impurities as opposed to preventing them. I know a lot of people had that problem with the clay masks and my skin has been worse since using this product.
Overall, I’m unimpressed. The toning water was the better of the products and I would use this if given to me but it’s unlikely I’d actually go out and buy it.
I would love to know your thoughts if you’ve tried this product, perhaps you got on better with it than i did!
